Before continuing please note that the Circle of Fulfillment is designed to work well whether you are secular or have a religious or spiritual affiliation.
As author and pastor Rick Warren comments, "Why am I here? What am I here for? Where am I going? These are not religious issues, they are human issues!"
Finding your life path can be a daunting task with no process in place. The Circle of Fulfillment provides a no-nonsense process to help you:
- organize your thoughts
- take charge of your personal growth
- improve how you think about yourself
- realize what you want to do, and figure out how to get there
Why should I bother finding my path?
Using the circle to find your ideal life path is not just locating a road. It is crafting your personal philosophy!
In addition to the reasons above, clarifying your values and understanding your life's meaning will lead to a happier, healthier life.
And knowing your purpose can create a vision that will pull you forward, thereby lightening your burden.
These concepts are borne out by research that will be cited as you go through the Circle of Fulfillment.
Take a few minutes to look at the circle and its elements. Notice that in the center is Health.
Health is necessary for long-term Joy, Vitality, Love, and Passion. Values lead to Meaning and Purpose.
Purpose leads to Goals, and Goals lead to Achievement. The overall flow leads to Fulfillment and Resilience.
But there is also flow from the outside inward. Fulfillment and Achievement feed Passion, and Passion feeds Vitality, which supports the desire to take care of yourself (Health).
Why should we care about fulfillment? The Cambridge Dictionary defines fulfillment as,
A feeling of pleasure because you are getting what you want from life.
Why should we care about resilience? Resilience helps you adapt well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, threat, or significant sources of stress.
